Mahila Charkha Samiti was formed with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Rajendra Prasad by Smt Prabhavati Devi in June 26, 1940 at Patna. During the time of establishment India was fighting for freedom. The history of mahila charkha samiti is full of glory.

Our Objective

• Raise social and cultural awareness among women about charkha and other home industries.
• Promote the art of crafts among women.
• Train women teachers for industry and crafts art.
• Set up charkha and other industrial artistic and vocational training institution for women and children.
• Run separate arts and music room for women.
• Run separate libraries and reading room for women.
• Run hostels for women female trainees.
• Provide education to women and provide village service centers.
• Produce useful literature for women.
• Strengthen self confidence and self reliance among women.
• Establish groups of women in the fields of art and culture.
